Monday, November 7, 2011. Harpers Ferry and the October 2011 Snowstorm. I did a hike up the north face of the mountains surrounding Harpers Ferry the day after the big October snowstorm. The combination of snow and trees with leaves was beautiful. The damage to the trees and the trail was extensive though - the snow stuck to the leafy trees and brought many of them down. Can you spot the trail? It runs off to the left half way up the picture.
